In its announcement, Sony confirmed that similar to the PS4's DualShock 4, the DualSense controller is also set to bring significant improvements over its predecessor, in hopes of elevating the experience of players once the  is released later this year. It is worth pointing out though that this is not the first two-toned PlayStation controller in existence, given that Sony has released special editions of the DualShock 4 that sports numerous designs. The two-toned aesthetic of the DualSense controller is most definitely a welcome change, especially since standard DualShock controllers in the past were either all-black, white, or gray in the case of the first PlayStation. Of course, while it is expected that the first batch of the new controller would only come in the white and black combination, it is almost sure that Sony will introduce colors in the DualSense sometime after the PlayStation 5's launch. The DualShock 4 alone already has that sport a wide variety of colors and designs, and the DualSense will probably be treated the same way after its launch this holiday season.

So far, it is difficult to pinpoint which color and design have been the most popular one for the DualShock 4.
