The best gaming monitor for PS4 that we've tested so far is the Acer Nitro XV273X. This is a 1080p monitor with an IPS panel, which provides great viewing angles so the image looks good no matter where you sit. It has an impressive peak brightness, making it suitable for bright rooms, and the screen's matte coating diffuses light decently well. It has a low input lag for an extremely responsive gaming experience, and its fast response time results in a clear picture with minimal motion blur. There's also HDR support, although its performance is limited by the monitor's inability to display a wide color gamut.
There are a few features that the PS4 may not be able to take advantage of right now, but could be quite useful in the future, such as its 240Hz refresh rate and support for FreeSync variable refresh rate. Also, this monitor isn't ideal for dark room viewing, as it has a mediocre contrast ratio that makes blacks look like gray. There are a number of connectivity options to plug in other devices like a media streamer or your PC, and it's equipped with a USB hub that has four USB 3.0 ports to charge your mobile devices. If you like gaming in the dark, you should go with a monitor that has a better contrast ratio and black uniformity, such as the MSI Optix G27C4. Like the , this monitor has a 1080p resolution, but its impressive contrast ratio allows it to produce deep, inky blacks, which is great for dark room viewing. It has a good response time as well as an outstanding input lag, and it has a black frame insertion feature that can help reduce the appearance of motion blur. Unfortunately, it doesn't have much in terms of extra features and it doesn't have any USB ports.
The Acer is a better monitor overall and offers more features, but if dark room performance is more important to you, then go with the MSI.

Best 4k Gaming Monitor For PS4 Pro: LG 27UK650-W

The best monitor for PS4 Pro that we've tested so far is the LG 27UK650-W. With its 4k resolution, images are delivered with incredible detail and clarity. It has a fast response time that results in very little blur-trail, and input lag is outstanding, making every button press feel amazingly responsive. With an impressive peak brightness and decent reflection handling, this IPS monitor is well-suited for bright rooms. Additionally, it has wide viewing angles so images remain accurate when viewed from the side, which is great for co-op gaming. Sadly, the monitor's mediocre contrast ratio and black uniformity make it difficult to recommend for dark room gaming, although this is typical for an IPS panel.
This monitor supports HDR, but as it's unable to display a wide color gamut and its HDR peak brightness is rather ordinary, HDR content doesn't look much different from SDR content. There aren't many inputs available, but enough to connect your computer, a media streamer, or a Blu-Ray player. If you also game on your computer, this monitor supports FreeSync variable refresh rate, which reduces screen tearing when gaming.

If you have a bit more room to spare for a larger screen, then take a look at the BenQ EW3270U. Like the , it has a 4k resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate, but its 32 inch screen provides much more space for an immersive gaming experience and for productivity. It's also a good option for those who like to game in the dark, as it has a VA panel that has a much higher contrast ratio. There are downsides, though, as it has narrower viewing angles and it can't get as bright. Also, the stand only provides tilt adjustment, which is quite disappointing.
Overall, the LG is a better choice for most people, but the BenQ provides more screen real estate, as long as you're okay with a few compromises.

If your budget is limited, consider the ASUS VG279Q, the best budget gaming monitor for the PS4. This monitor sports an IPS panel with a 1080p resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It has a good build quality despite its price, and its outstanding ergonomics put monitors that cost significantly more to shame. You can adjust the monitor however you like and it can rotate to portrait mode in either direction. Like most IPS panels, it has a low contrast ratio and sub-par black uniformity, so it isn't ideal for gaming in the dark. However, it does have an impressive peak brightness and good reflection handling for use in well-lit rooms.
Response time is good and there's an optional black frame insertion feature to help reduce motion blur. Input lag is excellent and there's support for FreeSync if you also game on a PC or Xbox One. It doesn't support HDR, but there are a few convenient extra features, such as the ability to put a crosshair for shooter games and a frame rate counter overlay. The backlight is flicker-free and there are speakers built-in.
With the ASUS VG279Q, you won't have to spend a fortune to get a great gaming experience.

We currently measure the response time on monitors using the native refresh rate. Monitors with a refresh rate higher than 60Hz will perform worse than measured, as the PS4 and PS4 Pro can only output at 60Hz. We've taken this into consideration when making our picks.
Our recommendations are based on what we think are the best monitors for PS4 currently available. They are adapted to be valid for most people, in each price range. Rating is based on our review, factoring in price and feedback from our visitors.
